About the Role
Stronghold is looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Accounting Associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with the ability to efficiently manage financial records and ensure accurate and timely reporting. This part-time position offers flexible hours and is perfect for individuals looking to contribute their expertise to a dynamic work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Financial Operations: Assisting with the recording, analysis, reporting, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the overall financial health of the organization.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software. Analyze financial data and create reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, manage bill payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements to ensure accuracy on a timely basis.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Controller in generating financial reports, including income statements, cash flow, and balance sheets, on a regular basis.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Budget Monitoring:Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing the management team with variance analysis and financial insights.
  • Audit Assistance: Prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Close:Support month-end and quarter-end close activities to ensure financial accuracy and completeness in accordance with GAAP.
  • Project Management: Supporting the Controller in managing financial projects to improve processes, systems, and policies. Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed. Identifying, mitigating and communicating status, risks, successes associated with financial projects.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial planning.

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of accounting experience. Proven experience in US GAAP accounting.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
  • Problem Solver and Adaptable: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Open to adopt changes in order to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Part-time position with 20 hours per week
Potential to convert to full-time
$60-$65 hourly rate
Ability to work remotely within the US
