Account Executive (Remote)

SmartPass is hiring! We’re developing next-generation educational technology — starting with a digital hall pass serving 1,000+ K-12 schools in 6 countries and 2+ million educators & students today.

Who we are

SmartPass helps K-12 staff coordinate student movement throughout the school day. Rotating classes, pull-out interventions, and counseling sessions are just a few examples of managing traffic and teacher capacity. SmartPass unlocks communication across classrooms and increases safety to ensure everyone can focus on learning instead of logistics.
Today, SmartPass serves over 2 million students in 1,000+ schools in 6 countries to maximize instructional time and improve student outcomes. SmartPass is on-track to be one of the fastest-growing startups in K-12. And we’re just getting started.
We’re backed by the leading investors in K-12 Edtech, including Reach Capital, Edovate Capital, Precursor Ventures, the founder of SchoolMint, and more. Currently, the team is 41 people.

Role Overview

Are you passionate about EdTech and how it can change the educational landscape of today? SmartPass is seeking an energetic individual with a background in education to join our team as an Account Executive.
An ideal Account Executive candidate enjoys making connections with customers. They know that listening and asking the right questions is the ultimate way to help each potential customer. They gain energy from conversations and truly enjoy them. They don't waste a customer's time, they create value for them instead. Account Executive's make the first touch and set a tone for the entire sales process. They are the face of the business.

Key Qualifications

Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
Tech-savvy individual capable of learning our product and the tools we use: Hubspot, Slack, Slite.
Enthusiastic and passionate
Independent and driven individual capable of setting & meeting sales goals
US Citizen
Bonus Points: A background in education as a teacher, administrator, or other staff member

Responsibilities

Engage in many product demos daily with school administrators and teachers
Work closely with our VP of Sales to tune our sales process and increase our conversion rate.
Communicate with customers through email, phone, website live chat, and video conferencing to drive sales, answer product questions, and onboard customers.
Become a source of information for customers about the product and be able to assist them in how to use the product to best meet their needs.
Drive product sales by following up after demos, issuing quotes, and cultivating healthy relationships with customers.
Perform outbound sales work through creative marketing, social media, referrals, and cold emails.

We’re small (~40 people in the company right now), so if you like more established companies, it’s not (yet) the right time. You’ll help build our company’s culture.
Since we’re an early stage startup, projects and priorities may shift. We’ll expect you to bring your own experience and give input to shift these priorities, too.
Our customers love usand there's a lot we can improve. It's a great place to be, but means there's some jank. (Nothing too scary! 😃)
