Why we’re hiring for this role: We are seeking our first Site Reliability Engineer to join our platform engineering team. This person would be responsible for architecting a fault-tolerant infrastructure primed for seamless scaling, enhancing and turbocharging our system reliability engineering practices, and innovating team-wide workflows and methodologies to bolster system resilience.

This is what you’ll do:

  • Architect and build infrastructure to support the platform using container orchestration tools (Kubernetes preferred), serverless applications (such as Lambda), virtual machines such as EC2 (GCE or Azure VMs), Databases, etc.
  • Be responsible for network and systems monitoring, alert strategies, and coming up with procedures to manage a 24x7 strategy to respond quickly to issues.
  • Work closely with the engineering leaders along with machine learning and data science teams and other functions to define a vision for our SRE efforts.
  • Build and maintain efficient tooling for the entire engineering team to improve productivity.

This what you'll need:

  • Data driven approach and ability to quickly and effectively resolve problems.
  • At least 3 years professional experience writing in either of these languages: Python (preferable), Bash, Ruby or other common languages used within the industry.
  • Experience with AWS services.
  • Networking experience, comfortable working with command-line Linux.
  • Excellent ability to communicate, organize, delegate, and give honest feedback, comfortable collaborating within the platform team and internally.
  • Experience with Opentelemerty or similar tracing services.
  • Ability to design complex systems and can help others produce great technical designs as well.
  • Deep Linux troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug kernel and driver issues.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

This would be nice to have:

  • Experience working at an early stage startup.
  • Experience in a HIPAA compliant environment.
  • Experience working in the fields of healthcare, security, or machine learning.
  • Experience with HL7 or radiology workflow is a plus.
  • Experience with Opentelemerty or similar tracing services.
  • Experience with Graylog or similar logging services.
  • Experience with Machine Learning tooling.
  • Experience working with Spark (EMR, DataProc, HD Insights) and Hadoop related technologies.
