Why we’re hiring for this role: We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our rapidly growing platform engineering team. This person would be responsible for engineering a resilient infrastructure for rapid scaling, streamlining and supercharging our CI/CD pipeline processes, and revolutionizing team-wide workflows and methodologies.
This is what you’ll do:
- Architect and build infrastructure to support the platform using container orchestration tools (Kubernetes preferred), serverless applications (such as Lambda), virtual machines such as EC2 (GCE or Azure VMs), Databases, etc.
- Utilize existing tools and create new ones to ensure a stable testing and deployment system.
- Track, triage, debug, and create resilience around issues as they arise.
- Utilize best practices in continuous integration.
- Design infrastructure that makes development and running experiments easy.
- Mentor other members of the engineering team on DevOps culture and tools.
This what you'll need:
- B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferable) or GCP and the tools to manage them.
- At least 5 years experience working directly on infrastructure.
- Extremely comfortable with Linux OS (Ubuntu/Debian preferred).
- Strong programming skills in Python and other programming languages (Go, Ruby, etc.).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or similar (Puppet, Salt, etc).
- Experience writing Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform (or similar).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Github Actions, CircleCI or Jenkins).
This would be nice to have:
- Experience working at an early stage startup.
- Experience in a HIPAA compliant environment.
- Experience working in the fields of healthcare, security, or machine learning.
- Experience with HL7 or radiology workflow is a plus.
- Experience with Opentelemerty or similar tracing services.
- Experience with Graylog or similar logging services.
- Experience with Machine Learning tooling.
- Experience working with Spark (EMR, DataProc, HD Insights) and Hadoop related technologies.
