Ease is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our team. We’re clinician-obsessed, optimistic; just flat-out awesome humans. What we're solving for

There's no longer a viable pathway for clinician entrepreneurs to build and launch independent practices. Today, more clinicians are employees than small business owners, and instead of working within their communities, they're working for hospital systems or gig-economy platforms that restrict healthcare access and increase costs.

What you'll do

• Own and drive technical decisions with a grounding in solving problems for our customers and business
• Jump into active development whenever required and necessary
• Coaching and mentoring junior developers
• Operating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Design teams.
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
• Performing code reviews, reviewing merge requests
• Making sure development team is adhering to the best practices

What are we looking for

• Ability to work independently and communicate over the phone and with video chat software, such as Zoom, Slack, Confluence, Jira
• A willingness to learn on the job and take on tasks as needed
• Thrives in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Experience in writing scalable and robust API (REST, GraphQL) with back-end code in Node.js with TypeScript
• Experience with both SQL and no-SQL databases, especially MySQL and MongoDB
• Experience in microservices architecture based on AWS and its associated services. More specifically AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway
• Demonstrate the ability to use different design patterns based on use cases
• Solid experience in writing unit tests, integrations tests with Mocha, Chai, Jest, or similar framework/libraries
• Experience in proper API documentation with OpenAPI Spec (Swagger Spec)
• Experience in writing non-technical documentation explaining workflows, processes, and functionalities
• Bonus: if you have FinTech domain experience, familiarity with billing and payments systems

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $25 to $30 USD per hour (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data).
